WHEN A STORM DEVELOPS AND IT SEEMS LIKELY SCHOOLS MAY CLOSE, DELAY, OR DISMISS EARLY, WATCH TELEVISION FOR ADDITIONAL INFORMATION. ALSO CHECK THE WEBSITE WWW.WVWSD.ORG. FOR ANY UPDATES.

1. Wyoming Valley West will utilize the following menu of school delay options in the event of inclement weather conditions:
A. ONE HOUR DELAY: School starting time and bus pick-ups will be delayed exactly one hour. Both breakfast and lunch are served.
B. TWO HOUR DELAY: School starting time and bus pick-ups will be delayed exactly two hours. Both breakfast and lunch are served.
C. Snow emergency routes may be utilized during extended periods of inclement weather and options would be announced by local televisionstations along with other delay and cancellation information.
2. In the event of EARLY DISMISSAL, announcements will be made on TV, WEBSITE and PHONE SYSTEM indicating early dismissal times.
WATCH TELEVISION: WNEP 16, WYOU 22, WBRE 28.
3. Parents should make arrangements with neighbors and their children indicating where their children are to go when there is an early dismissal and parents are not home.
4. Within the guidelines of state law, if parents feel an unusual safety situation exists, they may submit complete information to school officials for consideration.
